Fair Medical Hire was born from a simple but frustrating reality: the locum tenens system was not working the way it should for physicians or hospitals.

After years of working as a locum physician from his hometown in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula, Fair Medical Hire's founder Dr Petio Kotov saw the same problem again and again. Physicians were stepping in to fill critical gaps, hospitals were depending on them to keep departments running, patients needed care and yet the relationship between the physician and the hospital was often filtered through layers of agencies, markups and limited transparency.

The people doing the work and the organizations needing the help rarely had a clear, direct view of what was being paid, what was being earned or how much money was being lost in the middle.

The more he learned, the more obvious the problem became: Both sides were operating inside a system that had become unnecessarily expensive, complicated and disconnected. Fair Medical Hire was created to change that.

The platform is designed to remove unnecessary barriers between hospitals and physicians by creating a more direct, transparent and fair way to connect. By reducing reliance on traditional middlemen, Fair Medical Hire gives hospitals a path to lower staffing costs while giving physicians greater control, clearer communication and the opportunity to earn more of what their work is truly worth.
